Join PATH Intl. and Megan Ellis, PATH Intl. Certified Advanced Instructor, to identify strategic approaches to lesson planning to accommodate a variety of populations. If you are feeling “stuck” when it comes to creative lesson planning and choosing activities that meet the needs of riders of various ages, diagnoses and skill levels, this 2 hour, LIVE online course will help you gain the knowledge to design your own creative and adaptable lesson plans! To get you started, three lesson plan templates will be provided for instructors to personalize to their program with instruction notes of how to adapt plans to specific ability levels. All are welcome to work through a specialized curriculum with Megan. Material, including quizzes, polls and a live question and answer period, will be geared toward novice therapeutic riding instructors. This special offering is scheduled for Wednesday, June 5, 2019, 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
At the conclusion of the course, participants will earn a certificate of completion and be able to:
- Identify lesson planning resources available in the industry.
- Take home three lesson plan ideas that are adaptable to a variety of populations.
- Insert their own ideas into a lesson plan template to accommodate diverse skill levels and ages.
- Compile lesson plan templates and ideas to create their own instructional toolbox.
Course Length and Schedule
This is a LIVE synchronous, two-hour online course. During the two-hour course, participants will be able to view presentations through PATH Intl.'s GoToWebinar platform, answer live quizzes and interact in a live question and answer period with Megan Ellis. To receive a certificate of completion, course participants must attend the full duration of the course.

This course will provide 2 continuing education hours toward the riding instructor core requirement (CR) on your annual PATH Intl. certification compliance.

Full course refunds are given only if a written cancelation request is received at the PATH Intl. office one week prior to the course start date. A 50-percent refund is given if a written request is received at the PATH Intl. office two to six days prior to the start of the course. No refunds will be provided once a course begins. If extenuating circumstances prevent a course participant from beginning or completing a course (family or medical emergency, natural disaster), a written request for a refund must be submitted to the PATH Intl. office prior to the completion of the course session.
