K-12 STEAM Director, YERU STEM Education who will be presenting for us on: Best Practices, Strategies and Resources for STEM Program Coordinators.
Webinar Description: Professional procedures prescribed as being the most effective for coordinating STEM/STEAM activities at one's library site. Participants will learn of resources available to them from national, public, and private entities with a science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) focus, to develop or enhance current programming their site.
Shaakira Hardy BIO
Shaakira Hardy a committed and highly dedicated to STEM (Science Technology Engineering and
Mathematics) education, not just within South Florida, but around the nation. She has worked in roles
such as science training, program and curriculum development, district-wide science coordinating and
directing within two school districts in Florida, Mr. Barrington Irving’s The Flying Classroom in conjunction with Hawker Beechcraft Air Systems, NASA (the National Aeronautics and Space Administration) and YERU STEM Education. Her current mission to encourage space science/astronomy enthusiasm and education in all ages via STEM is a passion which will hopefully continue to pipeline individuals towards careers in those areas. Shaakira has worked with the following entities: Miami Dade County School District Planetarium Director and Astronomy Magnet Programs Coordinator (3 years), NASA 2007-2011 (Astrobiology Curriculum Developer), Hawker Beechcraft Air Systems & Cpt. Barrington Irving’s The Flying Classroom Curriculum Developer (2014) and currently a STEM Programs Director and the NASA Osiris ReX mission as an Ambassador and Remote Quantification Scientist (Space Geology).
