September 24, 2019

Description:
Academic libraries face growing opportunities and challenges regarding the amount and types of data they capture; the privacy and ethical responsibilities surrounding that data; and a desire to make data-driven decisions to improve services and best support their campus communities. Join Abigail Goben to discuss obligations and issues academic librarians are currently facing with data capture and use data and consider strategies to engage with students, faculty and administration on the future of library-generated data.

Learning Objectives:
1) Participants will review data capture obligations in order to understand potential benefits and harm.

2) Participants will consider ways to engage campus stakeholders about data practices
