(Event: 2016 Western and Central Districts Meeting: Expanding Opportunities)

Apr 08, 2016 9:30am - Apr 08, 2016 10:30am
Session Type: Main Podium
Track: AGD Subject Code 698

Description

Autogenous bio-activators have been brought to the forefront of the discussion regarding implant surgery. Conflicting commercial interests have created confusion on the proper use of this technology. While each product has its own benefits, there is no "one size fits all" that meets all of a clinician's needs. This lecture is designed to bring clarity to the topic of bio-activators, including when and where each product should be used. Using bio-activators can be beneficial, but using too many can be harmful to the desired surgical result.

Learning Objectives: At completion of this presentation, participants should be able to:
1. Evaluate unbiased information regarding autogenous bio-activators for dental implant procedures
2. Understand when to use each of the autogenous bio-activators
3. Recognize how to maximize the benefits and minimize the complications of using bio-activators with bone grafting materials
