Our goal in implant dentistry is to have predictable success for all of our cases while being minimally invasive at the same time. The current use of biologics has enhanced our clinical outcomes by faster healing and better healing. Concentrated growth factors can be used for all of our grafting cases, for implant placement, extraction sites, as well as other modalities. Platelet rich fibrin (PRF) can be made into membranes, can be used for soft tissue enhancement, and even PRF plugs for extraction sockets. Autologous fibrin glue (AFG) can be incorporated into our grafting procedures to convert our particulate graft into biologic putty bone graft materials for each in graft placement, stability of graft, and better bone regeneration. We will review the steps involved in the preparation of PRRF, CFG, and AFG and clinical relevance of each.
