The Center for Energy Workforce Development (CEWD) will be holding a meeting on Thursday, June 29 for CEWD member companies and invited guests in the Midwest (MN, IA, MO, KS, IL, WI, IN, MI, OH, NE, ND & SD). The purpose of the meeting is to discuss workforce development issues and concerns in the region and to share solutions to these issues. The theme for this year's Regional Meetings is Making the Connections to a Diverse, Qualified Pipeline. The focus will be on the two areas of Diversity and Quality in the Talent Pipeline and will include presentations and discussion as well as a Best Practices Exchange, where members can bring ideas and sample materials related to the two topics. We encourage you to bring your colleagues who have a vested interest in diversity and quality in the talent pipeline, including human resources, diversity and inclusion, employment testing, technical training, operations, and community relations.
This meeting is being held for members and invited guests. Please note that this invitation is being sent to CEWD members only. If you would like to invite a guest, please let us know. Please feel free to forward this invitation to others within your organization that you think should attend, including your utility subsidiaries and union leadership.
There is no cost for attending the meeting except for your individual expenses (airfare and hotel). Please register as early as possible so that we will have an accurate count for which to plan.
Region NEEN Workshop
On June 28 CEWD will be hosting a half-day workshop, Building a Sustainable NEEN Community.
In place of the previous annual National Energy Education Network meeting held in past years, this year CEWD is sponsoring a 4-hour NEEN workshop from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. the afternoon before each CEWD region meeting. The audience for this workshop is CEWD industry members in the region and their sponsored NEEN educators. To make the workshop effective and valuable for all, CEWD industry members are urged to attend and to invite and encourage participation by their NEEN sponsored schools. During the workshop, attendees will explore the impacts of national game changers on NEEN as a community and discuss approaches for making the community more valuable for educators and their industry sponsors. Additionally, CEWD will facilitate an in-depth discussion of credentials associated with the CEWD competency model and collect feedback on their future application.
If you would like to attend, please select this option when registering.
