Conference DescriptionEssential energy-related ideas and operating tips will be taught in a series of four tracks. The tracks are designed for commercial building owners and managers, building operations and engineering staff, architects, consulting engineers, property developers, and other parties interested in cost effective opportunities in commercial energy efficiency.
Keynote SpeakersJudith Heerwagen, Office of Federal High Performance Green Buildings, US General Services AdministrationChanging Energy Behaviors: The Physical System Meets the Social SystemRecent research shows that occupant and organizational behavior can dramatically influence the energy performance in buildings – even in buildings that meet the highest levels of green building certification. This talk will provide an overview of these research findings and discuss current approaches to changing behavior to align it more effectively with energy goals.Dana Schneider, VP, Sustainability Services Market Lead for Jones Lang LaSalleMs. Schneider and Jones Lang LaSalle led the implementation of an energy management and sustainability program at the Empire State Building with an anticipated annual energy savings of $4.4 million. In her keynote address, Dana will discuss the Empire State Building energy retrofit and how Jones Lang LaSalle is replicating this success in their commercial portfolio across the country.
