“Malpractice Prevention for Orthodontic Staff”

Lecture Synopsis:
This program will discuss malpractice in the orthodontic office from the view point of the orthodontic staff.  Staff can, by the various jobs they perform, cause malpractice claims and also prevent them.  From the tasks of appointing, to completing the financial contract, to removing braces, etc. there is interaction with patients and the chance to create satisfaction or dissatisfaction.  Keeping claims, lawsuits, and regulatory complaints to a minimum is important; attend this program to learn how.

Educational Objectives:
1) Learn to recognize staff involvement with malpractice.
2) Learn where communication can enhance patient satisfaction to prevent claims.
3) Learn effective records documentation to provide good patient care and maximum defense to claims.
