The workshop will focus on the interdisciplinary approach atThe Children’s Village in New York in caring for immigrant children in ORR/DCScustody by presenting individual children’s personal narratives and teaminterventions across medical, psychiatric, social work, and legal professions. The workshop will also present the evolutionand initial outcomes of Project SHIFA (Supporting the Health of ImmigrantFamilies and Adolescents) by Spurwink Services in Maine. Project SHIFA providesculturally appropriate mental health care for resettled, immigrant youth andtheir families, from school-based prevention through individual and familyTrauma Systems Therapy intervention.
