About the Speakers

John S. Child, Esquire

John S. Child, Jr. practices patent, trademark, copyright and unfair competition law with Paul & Paul in Philadelphia, PA.  Mr. Child has received degrees from the International School of Geneva in 1962, a Bachelor of Science Degrees from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1967 for Chemical Engineering and Political Science in 1967, a Bachelor of Literature Degree from the University of Oxford attending at St. Edmund Hall from 1967 to 1974 and a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1974.  Mr. Child currently practices with Paul & Paul in Philadelphia, PA and was a co-founder of the Joint Patent Practice CLE and serves on its planning committee.  He has presented at international seminars and given workshops on how to obtain intellectual property protections.  Mr. Child is admitted to practice before the New York and Pennsylvania bars and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

 

Timothy N. Rausch, CPA

Timothy N. Rausch is licensed as an attorney and CPA in Pennsylvania.  After graduating LaSalle College cum laude in 1978, Tim worked for several local and regional accounting firms and obtained his CPA license before attending Temple University School of Law.  He received his JD and LLM (Taxation) from Temple in 1987 and 1994, respectively.  After passing the PA bar, Tim joined the City of Philadelphia's Law Department as an Assistant City Solicitor in the tax unit representing the City and School District in all matters of taxation with a special emphasis on business taxes, use and occupancy tax, delinquent collections and tax administration.  Since 2004, he has been employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Resources as an Audit Specialist in the Philadelphia office of the Bureau of Financial Operations where he manages compliance audits of providers of health and welfare benefits.  In addition to his employment, Tim maintains an outside practice including tax return preparation, federal, state and local tax litigation, estate administration and real estate practice.  

AAA-CPA continuing education programs are designed to meet the needs of Attorneys and CPAs and to qualify for credit both as CPE and (M)CLE. Of course, the decisions of various state authorities determine the actual credit granted. Prerequisites: None. Advanced Preparation: None. Program Level: Overview. Delivery Method: Group-Live.

 

The American Academy of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants, Inc. (AAA-CPA) is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit.
