Implant placement in the posterior maxilla was a challenge in the early years of implant dentistry. However, through sound research and proven procedures, implant dentistry in the posterior maxilla has become more predictable. This course will discuss when an implant can be placed at the same time as an extraction and when a stages approach is recommended. Also to be discussed is when an implant can be placed in an edentulous site at the same time as grafting vs. taking a staged approach to implant therapy.
