Description

The use of implants to restore function and esthetics to the edentulous or partially edentulous jaw has become a common practice in dentistry. However many challenges arise when the availability of the osseous structure needed is deficient.  The course will target osseous defects that require regeneration/repair using titanium mesh or rigid fixation devices. Procedures, techniques and materials to minimize complications and increase success will be discussed as well as possible complications and how to handle them. Manipulating titanium mesh and bone grafting materials will be discussed in the hands-on portion of the seminar.

Learning Objectives:  At completion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify osseous defects that will require regeneration with titanium mesh or rigid fixation.

  2. Learn about different techniques and materials used in conjunction with titanium mesh.

  3. Better understand the possible complications, how to handle them and the removal of the titanium mesh.
