The International Conference on Residential Design
iCORD is a two-day P2P knowledge circulation experience. Attendees will have access to more than one-hundred lifetimes of industry skill, expertise and awareness. Serving as the educational portion of the American Institute of Building Design's Annual Convention, iCORD is a dynamic training experience designed to provide you the timely and relevant information you need in your career or business today - as long as you're willing to ask for it. This much-anticipated event is one part conference, one part technical training, and three parts industry summit. Borrowing from the best of each format, iCORD is a blended teaching and learning environment that is both memorable and effective.

Spouse Event ~ Take a 3-hour tour through local ethnic markets. Visit an Asian market where, among other Asian taste experiences, you'll discover durian - you'll either love it or hate it. Then on to an Indian market where you'll be delightfully overwhelmed with the smell of spices and array of Indian staples. Next, you'll visit a Mexican market. You'll take the "Mexican Coca Cola Challenge" and see an array of Hispanic pastries, breads, and other food items. Last but not least, tour a Turkish market where you can buy Middle Eastern spices by the ounce and experience genuine Turkish sweets. AIBD has specially arranged to have a chef on hand to stroll with you and provide tips and techniques you can put in immediate use in your kitchen.

Spouse Event ~ Spend a leisurely day at Franklin Park Conservatory and Gardens. Presenting multi-faceted art and nature based exhibits throughout the year including the favorite through the summer, Blooms and Butterflies. All the exhibits are developed, designed and maintained by Conservatory staff. Special temporary exhibits by national and international artists are also presented each year. AIBD has arranged for the Conservatory to provide a glassblowing hands-on workshop privately for its guests. working with professional glassblowers, you will create a colorful glass ornament in the Conservatory Hot Shop.
