Public Policy, Politics and the Medical Practice
Healthcare and the practice of medicine continues to deal with a rapid pace of change, including issues like coverage, access, price transparency and payment models that are directly impacted by public policy.
2018 is big election year and many people who are elected to decide these issues are on the ballot. Ohio will elect a new Governor, consider whether to keep an existing US Senator, vote on a new Central Ohio Congressman, and vote on a slew of new legislators, including one Central Ohio physician who is running for the House of Representatives. And with all those elections, pundits will be analyzing what the results mean for our President and the remainder of his first term.
In the midst of the election season, work continues on legislation dealing with healthcare price transparency requirements, MOC, and scope of practice changes. Regulatory considerations are on-going for compounding and physician assistance programs. And what additional changes might be in store for physicians as over 10 people in Ohio are continuing to die every day from accidental drug overdoses.
We hope you can join us for a very informative discussion.
