UPDATE FROM THE “LAME DUCK” LEGISLATIVE SESSION, BEST PRACTICES IN BUDGET REVIEW, AND COLLECTIVE BARGAINING NEGOTIATIONS

This third in a series of ISDLAF+ User Group Seminars is designed to assist Superintendents and School Business Officials to be brought up-to-date on the “Lame Duck” discussions/actions, principles of school finance and business operations for various audiences, and issues to be confronted in upcoming collective negotiations. Topics for the seminar will include:

  • Legislative insights from the “Lame Duck Session”
  • Best practices to consider in mid-year budget review, peer group comparisons, and “school finance for board of education members. (Popular session attended by 150 board of education members at the 2016 IASB/IASA/IASBO Conference.)
  • Preparing for collective negotiations in these “uncertain” economic times, i.e., State of Illinois funding
