Dec 10, 2014 04:30pm
(GMT-6)

Event Description

Through this course, school administrators will better understand the legislative process at the state level, as well as the political dynamic in Illinois law-making related to education. By analyzing state legislative  issues that are related to local schools and districts, participants will learn new strategies for better communicating and promoting their local interests and  those of all students impacted by the state legislative process. Before the day of the workshop registered participants will be notified of a topic that is in play at the state legislative level and which could result in local impact. They will be asked to review/research this topic and its significance in their own setting. At the conclusion of the workshop, participants will plan specific ways to fully communicate and support their school/district communities in building awareness of and interaction in state legislative processes.
