2016 KENTUCKY TRUCK DRIVING CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Kentucky Trucking Association Safety Council, in conjunction with Kentucky Trucking Association, will be conducting the 25th  Annual Kentucky Truck Driving Championship March 18-19, 2016 in Louisville, Kentucky.

The course site is Papa John’s Stadium.  The headquarters for the event this year will be the Hilton Garden Inn, 2735 Crittenden Drive, Louisville, KY. We have reserved a block of rooms and the rate is $99 plus tax – be sure to mention the Kentucky Trucking Association when making your reservations to insure you will be receiving the discounted rate.  Rooms will be made available for March 16-20 , for any of those wishing to arrive a few days early.  The number to call for reservations is 502.637.2424.  The hotel is holding the block of rooms until May 1.  Hotel information and directions can be found on the hotel website Click Here for Hotel Info.

Entry fees for this year’s competition is $100 per driver for early registration, $150 after January 15th for Kentucky Trucking Association members, and the non-member price for drivers is $350, which includes an individual membership to Kentucky Trucking Association for that driver.  All information must be FILLED IN COMPLETELY; includes zip codes and telephone numbers, with area code, and ALL SIGNATURES must appear on the front of the form.  Please note on the KENTUCKY entry form if the driver needs to be sent a copy of the “2015 Facts for Drivers.”  We will be testing from the 2015 Facts for Drivers again this year due to the date of the event and availability of the 2016 Facts for Drivers. If so, the book will be mailed to the driver’s home address.

Each driver will take a written test, pre-trip inspection test and drive the field test course.  All of this is explained in the “Facts for Drivers” book.  We provide the equipment to be used in all classes. A driver may enter only one of the nine classes of competition: Straight Truck, 3 Axle, 4 Axle, 5 Axle Van, 5 Axle Tank, 5 Axle Flatbed, Sleeper, Twin Trailer, and Step Van class.  The winners receive a trophy and will represent Kentucky, providing they maintain their contest eligibility and are members of the Kentucky Trucking Association, it is no longer necessary to be a member of the American Trucking Association for eligibility, at the National Truck Driving Championships held August 10-13 in Indianapolis, Indiana!

IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE CONTEST, Kentucky Trucking Association MUST RECEIVE THE FOLLOWING ITEMS FOR EACH DRIVER ENTERED:

ü  The Kentucky entry form, noting if the driver needs a “2015 Facts for Drivers.”

ü  The ATA entry form, completely filled out, typed(preferably), with all signatures

ü  A copy of the driver’s CDL.

ü  A recent MVR for the driver.

All information must be received by Kentucky Trucking Association no later than Monday, March 7, 2016.
