The Changing Demands of Supervision
The theme for the 8th annual Field Supervision Institute is “The Changing Demands of Supervision.” Session topics will address various aspects of supporting school psychology trainees as they undertake field-based learning experiences to deliver a comprehensive range of school psychological services. This will include a description of quality supervision and how it is effectively implemented. The session on ethics and professional practice presentation will help participants address dilemmas they face in the field.
Learning objectives:
- Describe how to foster trainee’s appropriate assertive behavior in the field
- Describe how field supervisors can engage trainees in expanding the school psychologist’s role, such as in mental health screening
- Identify and apply key elements of quality supervision
- Assist supervisees in understanding and dealing with ethical issues in school psychology practice
