The Changing Demands of Supervision

 

The theme for the 8^th annual Field Supervision Institute is “The Changing Demands of Supervision.”  Session topics will address various aspects of supporting school psychology trainees as they undertake field-based learning experiences to deliver a comprehensive range of school psychological services.  This will include a description of quality supervision and how it is effectively implemented.  The session on ethics and professional practice presentation will help participants address dilemmas they face in the field. 

Learning objectives:

• Describe how to foster trainee’s appropriate assertive behavior in the field
• Describe how field supervisors can engage trainees in expanding the school psychologist’s role, such as in mental health screening
• Identify and apply key elements of quality supervision
• Assist supervisees in understanding and dealing with ethical issues in school psychology practice
