This 2 ½ day class will help participants understand their leadership styles. We will evaluate and discuss the strengths of our given styles and opportunities for improvement. In this class the participants will uncover the energy/presence they bring into a space and determine if that presence is aligned with their intentions and desired impact/outcome. We will then outline strategies to mitigate the potential impact of blind spots. With a clear understanding that these blind spots have significant impact our ability to connect with others, resulting in less than optimal performance for ourselves, our teams, our communities and organizations. The success of this class for the participant is centered on their ability/willingness to be open, transparent and trust the process. Session Topics: Unconscious Bias, Art of Cultural Competence, The Mind of a Leader, Mindfulness, Leadership Presencing (presence & sensing), Kantor 4 player Model and Hero/S-Hero modes, Human Synergistic – Life Styles Inventory (LSI), managing a Diverse Work Team, Wisdom of Crowds, Power and Privilege (the love and benefit of my tribe), Daryl Connor – Change model, LEAN thinking and employee engagement, and Leading by Holding Space.

Learning Objectives:

By participating in this program participants will:

• Cultivate conscious awareness of our being, by recognizing the function of bias, understanding our story and how it shows up in the workplace
• Understand our own subjectivity, by analyzing how our background impacts the way we experience the world, evaluate talent, and interact with others
• Recognize our own biases, by learning functions of the unconscious mind and determining how they may impact job responsibilities
• Identify how “our story” affects employees, customers, and the overall business, by analyzing how “our story” may show up in interpersonal behaviors and various aspects of the workplace
• Recognize our Heroes & S-Heroes modes, develop a deep appreciation for the strength and weaknesses of these modes in us.  
• Develop actions to practice conscious awareness, by brainstorming about strategies to mitigate the impact “our story” has in interactions and decision-making

Prerequisites:

Target audience would be C-suite leaders, Executive Directors, Human Resource Professionals, and People Mangers. This program is designed to develop the competencies to support your internal development plans. This program will take participants from exposure and awareness to integration of mindfulness and inclusion in this global environment.

Bart Bailey, MBA, with more than two decades of management, supervisory, and training experience, has dedicated his professional career to helping others overcome obstacles. He helps them to improve themselves and succeed professionally and personally. Bailey is an adjunct professor at William James College in Newton, Massachusetts. A professor in the Masters of Organizational Psychology program.  He is responsible for helping the students understand leadership and use of self. Bailey serves on two family advisory councils at two children’s hospitals. Serves on Lehigh Valley’s Health Network’s Cultural Awareness Leadership Council. Member of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce’s African American Business Leader’s Council. Faculty member of the Black Mental Health Initiative at William James College. Facilitated workshops for the Allentown Police department and the community. Bailey believes with the proper fulcrum and leverage we can change the world.
