The Healing Power of Connection: Relational-Cultural Therapy

Nov 04, 2011 9:00 am -
Nov 04, 2011 4:30 pm

Event Description

Judith V. Jordan, PhD, instructor

This program will explore the core concepts of Relational-Cultural Therapy. We will examine the shortcomings of Ôseparate selfÕ psychologies and how a shift to relational psychology alters our understandings and interventions. Participants will look at the ways that isolation creates suffering and we will touch on the ways in which we are hardwired to connect with others. We will learn how an approach characterized by mutual empathy and therapeutic authenticity brings people back into connection and growth. Presentation of concepts, discussions of cases, videos and some experiential exercises will help deepen an understanding of how this model can lead to more effective psychotherapy

Program Code: RCT1
6 CE Credits
Location: at MSPP, West Roxbury
