The mission of the CRSC is to ensure coordination in the development and implementation of major data items, standards, and procedures related to cancer registration, including changes initiated by NAACCR member organizations and those initiated by external organizations. The function of this committee expands and formalizes the functions of the original Implementation Oversight Board, which was focused on implementation of standards. The new committee will consider new or revised cancer surveillance standards, rules, and other major initiatives from the conceptualization to the implementation phase. Its purpose is to ensure regular communication between among leaders of NAACCR and its Sponsoring Member Organizations to facilitate coordination and promote consensus.
