Registration Instructions

Resilience-Driven Leadership (RDL) taps into the core principles of social work leadership and trauma-informed practice to provide attendees with the state-of-the-art tools and strategies they need to serve at the highest levels of excellence. Rather than having to translate concepts from the business world, RDL examines leadership experiences unique to a human services perspective.

Modules in the training are geared toward:

  *   Current and FUTURE supervisors, managers and directors
  *   Clinicians, practitioners and other direct service providers who take on or aspire to managerial roles
  *   All social workers aiming to sharpen or develop leadership skills

The RDL training series program is comprised of 5 independent leadership modules.  Each module is a full-day (7 CE) session.  Some other topics include:
• Leading Change: Motivating Supervisees and Teams
• The Culturally Competent Leader
• Making Difficult Conversations Easier: Effective Conflict Resolution
• Organizational Development and Strategic Planning for Social Workers

The 5 modules accommodate a wide variety of leadership goals. They are not sequential so social workers can choose to enroll in just 1, attend several or complete the entire program.

Those who successfully complete all 5 modules in the training series program will earn a total of 35 CEs and a "Leadership Certificate" from NASW-VA.

Module 5 – The Mindful Leader: Self-Care in Serving Others
Presented in a "retreat" style, this interactive module provides participants with an array of specific tools to promote their own well-being so they can ultimately lead people and programs with more focus, positivity and compassion.  As the saying goes, "you cannot give more than what have", so this module emphasizes valuing SELF in order to be of optimal service to others.  It also highlights the crucial function of role modeling in leadership.  More than what we SAY, others will always look for the integrity in what we DO as the most sincere sign of leadership competence.  In this module, learn how to be authentic in your leadership through starting with "self" as the primary instrument for interpersonal and systemic change.
