Advanced Telemental Health Experiential Training: Intensive 8-hour TMH skill building program 
 

Session Description:

Presenting a two-day course, comprised of up to 8 hours of experiential learning in Telemental Health, to provide the mental health clinician with a hands-on learning experience in providing telemental health services from the point of first contact with a client to the point of termination. Attendees will be asked to work in small groups to practice direct interaction with clients to gain experience in each step of the process of establishing ethical psychotherapeutic relationships with clients and conducting successful treatment using videoconferencing as a service delivery model. 

This program has been designed to provide clinicians who have already completed the 9-hour intensive telemental health program from yourceus.com with the additional training to be eligible to sit for the post-test for the Certificate of Specialization in Telemental Health. For clinicians not seeking the Certificate of Specialization, this program will provide advanced training to move towards best practice skills in providing distance counseling services.

 

Course Objectives Day One

  • Deliver best practices pre-screening for the appropriateness of Telemental Health in practice simulations with complex client presentations
  • Apply best practices in telemental health informed consent in practice simulations with complex client presentations
  • Provide best practices in the development and implementation of an emergency plan in practice simulations with complex client presentations
  • Apply best practices forms and templates for the management of pre-screening, informed consent, and emergency and crisis plan development and implementation in practice simulations with complex client presentations

Day 1 of the course will include interactive scenario analysis addressing the kinds of complex clinical dilemmas that may be created in Telemental Health Services.

 

Course Objectives Day Two

  • Deliver best practices assessment procedures via distance technologies in practice simulations with complex client presentations
  • Apply best practices in telemental health treatment sessions in practice simulations with complex client presentations
  • Provide best practices in the management and response of an emergency or crisis situation in practice simulations with complex client presentations
  • Deliver best practices case termination and transfer procedures via distance technologies in practice simulations with complex client presentations
  • Apply best practices forms and templates for the management of assessment, client sessions, and emergency and crisis situations and client termination and referral in practice simulations with complex client presentations

Day 2 of the course will include interactive scenario analysis addressing the kinds of complex clinical dilemmas that may be created in Telemental Health Services.

 

CEUs: 8 Category I Contact Hours 

Both Days (9:00 AM EST to 1:45 PM EST, 4 Contact Hours each day)

This is a live virtual training. Registrants will be sent the login to join the day prior to the training.

If a registrant cancels more than 10 days before the event, a refund will be issued by check or credit back to your credit card, minus a 10% administrative fee.

 

If cancelation occurs less than 10 days prior to the event, no refund will be issued but you may request a credit towards a future training to be used within 1 year of the cancelation date. Call the Chapter Office (804-204-1339) to cancel within 10 days of the training. A request for credit may be granted at the discretion of the Executive Director in case of a documented emergency.
