The Ohio Women’s Outdoor Adventures (OWOA) is a weekend program specifically for women that includes a variety of outdoor workshops taught by trained specialists. The program promises a relaxing weekend filled with educational workshops on outdoor recreation skills for all levels of mastery. Some workshops include: Kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, archery, trailering, bow-fishing, launching/loading, shooting sports, powerboating basics, backpacking and shelter basics, and more. The third annual OWOA weekend will be held at Maumee Bay State Park in Oregon, Ohio. It is open to all women, including girls aged 12 years or older who are accompanied by a parent or guardian. Cost The registration fee of $280 includes instruction in all workshops, program materials, use of equipment, a t-shirt, two nights lodging (double occupancy; for the evenings of August 26-27), 5 meals, and snacks. For all other forms of registration, download a registration form and follow the instructions on the form. If applying for a scholarship, please follow the instructions on the scholarship application. All registrations must be paid in full to secure your spot. Scholarships Ten scholarships of $125 each are available from Ohio Outdoors Women to first-time participants who are students, working single parents or from fixed- or low-income households. The remainder of the registration fee ($155) is the responsibility of the participant. The scholarship application must be completed and returned by June 10, 2016.
