Make the Most of Your Writer-in-Residence
12/4/2018
12:00 - 1:00 PM
About this session:
A writer-in-residence doesn't have to just sit in an office and read submissions from budding authors. Marty Chan shares his programming ideas and marketing techniques so that librarians can see the possibilities for their next writer-in-residence.
Key Learnings:
Participants will come away with tools to better screen their next writer-in-residence hire, suggest programming for the writer-in-residence to increase public engagement, and market the services/programs the writer-in-residence provides.
About the instructor:
Author Marty Chan has served as a writer-in-residence at the Edmonton Public Library, Strathcona County Library, St. Albert Library, and Fort Saskatchewan Library. He's worked with writers from ages 8 to 80.
