Broward County Library System, North Regional/ BC Library

Artistic Literacy, Inc. returns to offer a new and exciting workshop for teen librarians after their popular workshop on Teen Services offered by SEFLIN in May, 2015

 

Participants in this full-day workshop will be introduced to best practices for involving teens in library programs. You will learn the components of a developmentally-appropriate program and how to manage teen and tween behaviors.  Participants will learn how to conduct programming connected to YALSA's programming initiatives, including Teen Read Week and Teen Tech Week.

Amber Holley & Elizabeth McConney

 

Artistic Literacy, Inc. is a group of librarians, artists, and educators who are committed to teaching others how to connect art to literacy through programming.  Amber Holley, Manager of Youth Services at the Jacksonville, FL Public Library, has worked as a teen librarian, children's librarian, and as a library branch manager.  Elizabeth McConney, a studio artist, has been providing art and literacy programming for libraries and schools since 2004.

Staff from Florida libraries may register for this workshop at no charge. Priority will be given to SEFLIN members.
