Sponsored by the Florida Library Association and presented by the Florida Legal Services in association with The Standing Committee on Pro Bono Legal Services of the Florida Bar and the Florida Pro Bono Coordinators Association, we invite you to learn about the Lawyers in Libraries project, which strives to increase librarians’ knowledge of the best legal resources for their patrons and patrons’ access to legal resources from lawyers – in public libraries, and all for free! Kathy Grunewald of Florida Legal Services will detail the exciting, two-prong approach that has had great success in other states to get legal services into our libraries in all corners of the state. Come spend an hour learning about how to get lawyers in your library to increase the legal services knowledge of librarians and patrons.

As the Statewide Training Director for Florida Legal Services., Kathy Grunewald is responsible for the design and delivery of Community Legal Education (CLE) programs for the legal services and legal aid advocates in Florida. Prior to assuming her current position with Florida Legal Services, Kathy was a staff attorney with Florida Legal Services specializing in family, elder and consumer issues. She was also the managing attorney for the Quincy office of Legal Services of North Florida. During that time, Kathy was a contributing author on child support to the Florida Bar CLE publication on Florida Dissolution of Marriage. She is a recipient of the 2012 Florida Bar Foundation Steven M. Goldstein Award for Excellence for her work on the case challenging the Florida Governor’s suspension of Florida’s Administrative Procedure Act. Kathy serves as a volunteer for the Guardian ad Litem program in Tallahassee and as a legal hotline volunteer for Legal Services of North Florida. She received her B.A. from the University of Florida, a M.L.S. from Florida State University and a J.D. with Honors from Florida State University.
