Making Meetings Work: Tips for Facilitating Discussion Groups
Friday, November 22, 2019
9:00 am - 12:00 pm
North Regional/Broward College Library
Broward County Library

We’ve probably all read the statistics about meetings.  Some experts estimate that over 50% of our meeting time is wasted – that’s a scary thought!  But it doesn’t need to be that way.  In this world of budget cuts and doing more with less, how we’re handling our meetings for discussion groups can be overlooked as an area that might be a productivity enhancer – yes, I said “productivity enhancer” in the same sentence as “meetings!”

In this 3-hour program, we’ll learn the 3 key areas that make a meeting successful – the before, during, and after of every meeting.  We’ll also learn 7 reasons many meetings are considered ineffective and ways you can avoid getting caught in those common traps.

We’ll address the differences between face-to-face meetings and webinars, and we’ll also look at the things that need to be considered for both formats.

We’ll take some time to walk through the purpose of our discussion groups as well as see how to use SEFLIN Connect to make our meetings more informative.

You’ll come away from this session with specific tips and techniques on how to make your meetings work – after all, why have one if it doesn’t work??
