This two-part online class will be held on September 19 and 26, 2013 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. Students must attend both sessions.
Tumblr is a microblogging platform popular with young adults that makes it easy to create and share content. Many libraries are finding it an effective platform for YA Blogs, library marketing, and more.
During this two-part class, we will:
- Explore the basics of Tumblr and how it's different from other blogging sites
- Learn the tips and tricks for a success Tumblr blog
- Show how to find and share Tumblr content appropriate for your audience
- Develop an effective social media plan combining unique content and effective content curation
During this two part class, attendees will create individual Tumblr pages, customize it for their audience, and have the option to receive feedback.
This class will be delivered online. Log-in information will be emailed approximately one week before the course.

Diana Silveira is the President of Novare Library Services, a company that focuses on web, mobile and infrastructure services for libraries. Previous to starting Novare Library Services, she was the Virtual Reference Manager for Florida’s Ask a Librarian Service and coordinator for Florida’s Statewide Delivery System. She presents regularly on implementing technology, best practices and privacy issues online. She also works with libraries to deploy new technologies and develop new mobile and desktop websites. She was the 2011 the Florida Library Association’s Library Leader of the Year. When she is not playing with gadgets and gizmos, she enjoys diving, kayaking and playing with her son.

Staff from Florida libraries may register for this workshop at no charge. Priority will be given to SEFLIN members. Non-members will be placed on a waiting list and added as space permits after the registration deadline.
