Maxine Bleiweis—consultant, former library director, and recipient of the PLA Charles Robinson Award for Innovative Leadership in 2015—will lead a special new event designed to help you become the library manager you want to be. While you can get great information from books and classes, this event will give you something you can't get anywhere else—unique coaching and consultation tailored to you and your career as a library director.
Bleiweis will be working with a group limited to only 10 individuals and will provide face-to-face training, live online webinars and one-on-one consultations. This unique combination of small group support plus expert guidance will help shape your library management style and will help you instill confidence in you as a leader.
Major topics covered will include:
Personnel
Managing boards and city managers
Spotting trends
Leveraging your community for support
Taking care of yourself
Community leadership
Management styles
Participants will be asked to complete a confidential questionnaire prior to the first session to assist in informing the breadth and depth of the facilitator’s focus. Ms. Bleiweis will also schedule one-on-one consultations with each participant, at times convenient for both you and facilitator.
