State Relations Task Force Lunch and Learn: Know Your ABCs

It can be tough to keep all the state membership organizations - and their acronyms - straight, and even tougher to understand which of them best fit your strategic goals. Come hear from two state government relations professionals who really know their ABC's! 
 
Joint the State Relations Task Force for a brown bag lunch to learn about and discuss the different state organizations, the various partnership and sponsorship options you might consider depending on your goals and budget, and about making the most out of the state conference circuit.

  •  Jennifer Stowe, Vice President, Carpet and Rug Institute​
  • Kristin Strobel, Director of State Affairs, BGR Government Affairs. 

Speakers Bios:

  • Jennifer L. Stowe is the Vice President, Government Relations for The Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI) in the Washington, DC area office. CRI is the trade association with responsibility for representing U.S. manufacturers of carpets and rugs. Her responsibilities include: federal, state and local government relations as well as interaction with government agencies and other Washington-based trade associations. In a professional capacity Ms. Stowe is a member of the Council of State Governments (CSG) and sits on their Environment Committee as well as their Associates Advisory Committee. She is a member of the National Council of State Legislatures (NCSL) Foundation Board. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the American Fiber Manufacturers Association and past president of the Board of Directors of the State Government Affairs Council (SGAC). Prior to joining CRI Ms. Stowe worked with the Chlorine Chemistry Council (CCC).
  • Kristin Strobel is the Director of State Affairs at BGR Government Affairs. She uses her many years of state government experience to assist clients in areas as diverse as executive policy, legislative debates and regulatory issues. She also leads BGR’s outreach to multistate policy organizations such as the National Governors Association (NGA), the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) and the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) as well as political organizations state government leaders rely on to advance their priorities. Prior to joining BGR, Kristin served as the Director of State Government Affairs for the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), and  before that she was the Director of State Government Affairs at the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (NAPEO).
