Description
Learn the basic concepts of music and imagery within the spectrum of Guided Imagery and Music, as well as the connection with the concepts of mindfulness meditation. Participants will learn how to apply personal music and imagery techniques for cultivating mindfulness in daily life.
Learner Objectives:
Obj. #1: Participants will be able to identify the basic elements of mindfulness meditation. - CBMT board certification domain II. A. 2. Provide experiences to address client's ao) self-awareness and insight.
Obj. #2: Participants will be able to apply the techniques of music and imagery for personal self-care and daily
mindfulness. - II. A. 5. a. Apply receptive music methods.
Obj. #3: Participants will be able to recognize the connections between mindfulness and MI - II. A. 5. j. Employ music relaxation and/or stress reduction techniques.
Obj. #4: Participants will be able to use at least one mindfulness meditation technique to be combined with daily
personal music and imagery. - II. A. 4. Recognize how the following music therapy treatment approaches and models inform clinical practice: e. humanistic.
Schedule:
15 minutes of overview , 90 minutes of presentation of material in the morning, 10 minutes of break, 100 minutes of experiential learning in the morning, 30 minutes of discussion, 60 minutes of lunch break, 30 minutes of discussion/preparation for experiential learning, 10 minutes of break, 120 minutes of experiential learning, 10 minutes of break, 15 minutes of evaluation
