Description The pervasive influence of trauma arising from crises, disasters, life events, or other client experiences is receiving increasing importance among health care professionals. Relatively new research in the area of neurobiology is shifting the focus of treatment. Because of unique benefits of music, music therapy can be a key component of the treatment process. This workshop presents an intensive overview of trauma and related research and treatment models. Participants are provided with the latest information in the area of trauma, with opportunities for break out discussions and the development of materials for supporting the trauma needs of their own clients.
