Environmental Engineering - An Industrial Sector Perspective: A Look Back to Get a Glimpse of the Future
Kris is the leader of environmental programs for GE. In this role, she is responsible for the development and implementation of associated programs globally. Previously, Kris was the global leader of water programs in the GE corporate EHS group for nearly 8 years.
Kris began her career working in the municipal water sector as a process engineer for the Regional Water Authority in New Haven, CT and over the past 33 years, 14 in an executive capacity, she has assumed leadership positions of increasing responsibility.
Prior to joining GE, Kris held a variety of positions with several Fortune 500 companies. These included: Clairol, Inc., Malcolm Pirnie, Inc. environmental consultants, Environmental Compliance Officer for ABB/Combustion Engineering, Director of Global Environmental Programs and EHS Governance at Pratt and Whitney (Division of UTC), and Director of Environmental Programs at Tyco International located in Princeton, NJ.
Kris possesses a BS in Biology from Fairfield University, an MS in Civil Engineering from the University of Connecticut, a Master of Environmental Management from Yale University, and an EMBA from the University of Connecticut.

Her comments will focus on discerning where we are going by looking at "proactive" strategies such as predictive analytics, the use of technologies like robotics, drones, and others to safely assess and address environmental risks in the context of sustainable solutions.
