Focus on Posterior Atrophy: New Trends in the Functional Zone
April 26 - 27, 2013

Innovative Implant Strategies
The Northeast and Southern Districts meeting in 2013 will provide a wonderful opportunity to witness some of the finest techniques to manage the less emphasized posterior functional zones. Cantilevers, shortened dental arches and sinus lifts are some commonly employed techniques to provide support in the posterior quadrants. The biomechanics in these areas are not well understood, and often we are left with under-engineered support where the stresses are magnified. The speakers will show predictable ways to treat atrophic posterior maxillae and mandibles with minimal to no height of bone and minimal to no width of available bone. Following the impressive array of surgical techniques, there will also be some phenomenal prosthetic reconstructions that will be illustrated.
