Event Description

The FCBA Judicial Practice Committee will hold a CLE on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:15 p.m.  This program will be held at WilmerHale, 1875 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW.

The Committee is pleased this year to welcome Donald Verrilli, Solicitor General of the United States, who will take part in a panel discussion on the recent City of Arlington decision from the Supreme Court, which deals with the application of Chevron when examining questions of agency authority.|

The program will begin with Richard Welch and Jake Lewis from the FCC General Counsel’s Office, who will discuss major decisions from the past year affecting the FCC and the communications industries.

Following that presentation, Mr. Verrilli and a panel of distinguished appellate lawyers, including Tom Goldstein of Goldstein & Howe, Jon Nuechterlein of Wilmer Hale, and Chris Wright of Wiltshire & Grannis, will discuss City of Arlington and its impact on Chevron and agency practice generally.  Paul Verkuil, who chairs the Administrative Conference of the United States, will moderate the City of Arlington panel.
