This seminar focuses on the central role social determinants of health play in the long-term risk of adults with serious mental illness. Individual needs are met with respect to Education, Physical Health, Pharmacology, and Health Awareness; however, advantages are not shared equitably across economic, racial, and ethnic groups comprising mental health.
1. Attendees will examine the responsibilities to help manage the unique challenges included in the social determinants of health
2. Attendees will participate in experiential opportunity activities to increase their knowledge and skills to identify social determinants of health
3. Attendees will discuss empowerment strategies
4. Attendees will discuss the variance in providing services to emerging adults
5. Attendees will conclude this seminar with understanding wellness and social determinants for the purpose of increasing the individual’s overall health
