Please join us on Thursday, March 24th 2022 at 2:00pm ET for a discussion that will explore the increasing focus on climate risk and its effect on credit risk analysis. Panelists will discuss how banks and rating agencies are measuring climate risk quantitatively and qualitatively, what they see as the most material risks in the near- and long-term, and how their assessments impact credit decisions. They also will address regulators’ growing attention to this topic and how climate risk may be managed in the coming years.

Ahmed Elcott, Executive Vice President, Head of Climate Risk, Wells Fargo

Ahmed Elcott is an EVP, Head of Climate Risk at Wells Fargo where he leads the firm's climate risk initiative. In this role, Ahmed leads the integration of climate risk into the firm’s overall risk management framework and leads the climate risk steering committee which comprises leaders across risk, business, control and the executive office.

 

He is an experienced finance and risk professional with 20 years experience leading diverse teams, risk management, ESG, and fundamental company and industry research. Ahmed has worked in Risk Management, Public Equity, Private Equity/Merchant Banking, Investment Banking, Consulting and Audit.

 

Ahmed has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and B.S. from the University of Virginia. Ahmed is currently the President of the Kellogg Alumni Club of New York, a position he has held since 2013. Ahmed has volunteered extensively including Memorial Sloan Kettering in the Urgent Care Cancer Ward, the American Cancer Society, the TEAK Fellowship as a Mentor, and the Big Brothers of NYC.

 

Paul Munday, Director, Climate Adaptation & Resilience Specialist, S&P Global Ratings

Dr. Paul Munday is a Director, Climate Adaptation & Resilience Specialist at S&P Global Ratings, where he leads and coordinates S&P Global Ratings’ research and application of climate adaptation and resilience analytics. He works at the interface between data and research, leveraging his expertise to help improve clarity of the credit impacts from climate risks.

 

Paul has over 10 years of experience in both the UK and abroad, providing advice to private and public sector clients across multiple sectors to help mainstream consideration of climate resilience into projects and programmes. Prior to joining S&P Global Ratings, Paul worked in climate risk consultancy.

 

He is a Chartered Scientist, Chartered Water and Environment Manager and certified expert in climate adaptation finance by the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.

 

Ryan Bohn, Senior Manager, Sustainable Finance Services, Ernst & Young

Ryan is a leader of EY’s Sustainable Finance services, responsible for advising clients’ on climate risk, net zero strategy, enterprise risk management framework, product offerings and solutions, and metrics and disclosure framework. Ryan has over 16 years of experience across banking and capital markets and insurance. He specializes in risk management and has worked with globally systemically important banks on large-scale transformation projects.

Monica Rebreanu is the founder of IMPACTplus | Sustainable Finance and Innovation, a start-up that assists financial institutions implement climate change and sustainability regulations in origination, risk management and disclosures through advisory, data analytics and fintech solutions. Monica leverages her experience in implementing post-financial crisis regulatory changes in risk management and reporting the U.S. and in Europe. She is a member of the Global Association of Risk Professional (GARP) and a CFA charterholder, member of the local CFA ESG Committee.
